Rob Cochran Named 2012 Diamond Award Winner

April 16, 2012, Pittsburgh, PA – #1 Cochran’s President and CEO, Rob Cochran, has been awarded the prestigious Diamond Award for 2012 by the Pittsburgh Business Times. 

Now in its fifth year, the Diamond Awards honor presidents and CEOs of both for-profit and non-profit enterprises in Western Pennsylvania.A total of 15 winners are named each year, with five in each of three categories:  non-profit, small/medium for-profit and large for-profit.  Cochran was honored in the large for-profit category.   

Nominees must be CEOs or hold equivalent positions (i.e. president, chairman, etc.) at companies or non-profit enterprises based in the 10-county Pittsburgh region, which include Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington and Westmoreland Counties.

A panel of judges that include several area graduate business school deans as well aspresidents of various large companies in the region make the independent selections from a finalist pool of about 75 nominees. Judges make their selection based on qualities that include leadership, organizational success and efforts by the individual outside the organization.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized by industry leaders and educators in the region.  I have to share credit with those in my organization who share my values and passion.  It’s a collaborative effort and I’m encouraged every day by the steps we take to further develop the business and strengthen our community ties,” said Rob Cochran.

A private awards ceremony will be held this month at PNC Park’s Lexus Club.  Winners are also recognized in a special April supplement of the Pittsburgh Business Times.
